New Hope Animal Rescue (NHAR) has seen an increase in cat adoptions thanks to a partnership with PetSmart and Petsmart Charities. NHAR is a local animal rescue organization that works to save both dogs and cats in need. Lemu and Snoopy, two cats housed local PetSmart Cat Adoption Centers, were recently adopted by their own respective families on September 14th.
NHAR is dedicated to saving neglected pets who are often discarded or overlooked due to their age, breed, or health status. The organization provides these animals with everything they need to prepare them for adoption, including medical care, emotional rehabilitation, and a safe place to stay. NHAR also promotes the importance of spaying and neutering pets in order to reduce shelter overflow.
PetSmart Charities, the leading funder of animal welfare in the United States, partners with NHAR to house their adoptable cats at PetSmart locations in the great Austin area. This partnership has been instrumental in finding forever homes for many cats. PetSmart store locations across the country have Cat Adoption Centers, allowing kittens and cats to be adopted during store hours.
NHAR operates as a foster-based organization and does not have a physical shelter space. In addition to the PetSmart facility, NHAR heavily relies on foster volunteers in the Austin area.
