The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session Meeting on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin, TX and via Videoconference.

Mayor Watson called the Council Meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Council Member Pool was absent.

B. BRIEFINGS

B1. Briefing on draft schedule for land development code amendments.

Presentation was made by Veronica Briseno, Assistant City Manager; Stevie Greathouse, Division Manager, Planning Department; Brent Lloyd, Development Officer, Development Services Department; Rachel Tepper, Planner Principal, Housing Department; and Upal Barua, Development Officer, Transportation Department.

C. COUNCIL ITEMS OF INTEREST

45. Approve a resolution initiating amendments to City Code Title 25 (Land Development Code) to change compatibility requirements. Council Sponsors: Council Member Jose "Chito" Vela. Approve a resolution initiating amendments to City Code Title 25 (Land Development Code) to create a new density bonus program for residential developments that include income-restricted housing units. Mayor Watson recessed the meeting to go into Executive Session at 11:21 a.m.

E. EXECUTIVE SESSION

The City Council went into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and personnel matters as specifically listed on this agenda and to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda.

E1. Discuss legal issues related to use of City right-of-way by broadband network providers (Private consultation with legal counsel - Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code).
