Vice-Chair Ryan Alter called the committee meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.

Approval of Minutes
1. Approve the minutes of the November 10, 2022 Housing and Planning Committee meeting. The minutes of the November 10, 2022, Housing and Planning Committee meeting were approved on Council Member Qadri’s motion, and Council Member Velásquez’s second, on a 5-0 vote.
Discussion and Possible Action
2. Discussion and possible action on setting committee calendar and possible agenda items for 2023.
The committee emphasized the importance of meeting more frequently to be able to stay connected to the work ahead as it relates to the many aspects of housing.
Briefings
3. Briefing from Housing and Planning Department staff on departmental goals and scope of current work in zoning, urban design, planning, and displacement prevention, housing development projects, to include Austin Housing Finance Corporation affordable housing projects.
The Committee received a briefing from Rosie Truelove, Director, Housing and Planning Department; joined by Mandy DeMayo, Deputy Director, and James May, Housing and Community Development Officer, Housing and Planning Department.
