Texas-based on-demand delivery service Favor Delivery recently announced the appointment of its first-ever Chief Taco Officer.

According to a Cision PR Newswire, in April Favor Delivery initiated a statewide search for someone to fill this newly created position. The company chose Chris Flores of San Antonio, after being flooded with hundreds of applications. As Chief Taco Officer, Flores will travel across the state of Texas to find and sample the best tacos in the state, while documenting and sharing his experience.

"Our goal was, first and foremost, to find someone who has a genuine passion for tacos, storytelling, and the history and culture of tacos in Texas, and Chris is exactly that," Favor Delivery CEO Jag Bath said, according to Cision PR Newswire. "We've delivered over 11 million tacos across Texas since Favor's launch -- and as a Texas-born and Texas-based company, needless to say, we take tacos very seriously. We cannot wait for Chris to share his taco journey with the rest of Texas and really showcase a core component of our state's cuisine and culture."

A native of San Antonio, Flores will begin his duties this month, with his first destination being Dallas-Fort Worth. Other stops on his trip to discover the state's greatest tacos include: Austin, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Houston, Lubbock, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Waco and more.

"I love Texas because of the melting pot of different cultures that have migrated here and adopted the taco into their cuisine," Flores said, according to Cision PR Newswire. "I'm so excited for this opportunity to travel Texas while seeing and tasting the different impact the taco has had on each region."

Visitors can find more information about Flores' journey and share recommendations for taco restaurants in Texas at Favor Delivery's website.
