WORK SESSION MINUTES

The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session Meeting at 301 W. Second Street, Austin, TX and via Videoconference.

Mayor Adler called the Council Meeting to order at 9:34 a.m. Council Members Harper-Madison and Renteria appeared via videoconference.

B. BRIEFINGS

Bl. Inclusive Procurement Working Group Presentation

The presentation was made by Edward Campos, Director, SAIBR.

The Mayor recessed the meeting to go into Executive Session at 11:44 a.m.

E. EXECUTIVE SESSION

The City Council went into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and personnel matters as specifically listed on this agenda and to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda.

E1. Discuss legal issues involved with lawsuits and claims related to Austin Police Department during the protests that occurred on May 30 and 31, 2020 and the City's Liability Reserve. (Private consultation with legal counsel -Section 551.071 of the Government Code).

Executive Session ended and the Mayor reconvened the meeting at 1:58 p.m.

B2. Update to Austin City Council Prior to Commencing Austin Police Department Academy 145 Cadet Class.

The presentation was made by Chief Joseph Chacon, Austin Police Department.

Direction was given to provide the number of cadets that completed the academy and obtained a different position/profession. To provide analysis on how training videos will be produced, in-house or externally.

Mayor Adler adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m. without objection.
