The Austin suburb of Kyle will be the new home of California beverage company Sovereign Flavors, Gov. Greg Abbott said Friday (March 18). According to a press release issued by the governor's office, Sovereign Flavors will relocate its base of operations from Santa Ana, California to the Texas Hill Country.

The release said that Sovereign Flavors will be housed in a new 80,000-square-foot facility that will also be home to the company's manufacturing, quality assurance and research and development departments.

"Sovereign Flavors’ relocation to the Lone Star State is great news for the people of Central Texas, and I look forward to collaborating with the company to keep Texas the best place to live, work, build a business and raise a family," Abbott, a Republican, said in the release. "More and more innovative businesses like Sovereign are moving to Texas because of our world-class business climate, diverse workforce and endless avenues of opportunity for all Texans to succeed."

According to the release, Sovereign Flavors President David Ames is thrilled with the move.

"Texas provides a remarkable environment for our business and our Sovereign family as we cultivate talented individuals who work with pride, purpose and talent," Ames said in the release. "Sovereign Flavors is honored to join Texas’ strong business climate and continue providing the highest quality food and beverage flavors in the industry."

Sovereign Flavors boasts a workforce of more than 50 employees, according to its website, Austin NBC affiliate KXAN reported.

"It is our mission to craft the best tasting finished beverages and highest quality flavors in the industry," Sovereign Flavors said on its website. "Our experienced beverage technologists formulate all kinds of finished drinks, according to your needs and specifications, while our flavor chemists create custom flavors (natural, organic, non-GMO or TTB) that can be used in a variety of different applications."
