University of Texas lands at No. 9 on U.S. News and World Report rankings

The University of Texas at Austin (UT) has climbed to No. 9 in the latest undergraduate rankings from U.S. News & World Report. This marks a one-spot improvement from last year and solidifies UT as the top public university in Texas. UT also made significant strides among both public and private universities, jumping six notches to No. 32 overall.

UT’s president, Dr. Jay Hartzell, attributes the university’s success to its ability to attract exceptional talent, its commitment to providing unmatched academic and research experiences, and the opportunities available in Austin as an innovation and cultural hub. The McCombs School of Business at UT achieved an impressive fifth-place ranking in the country, with a dozen of its specialties in the top 10. The accounting program at the university remains strong at No. 1. Additionally, the Cockrell School of Engineering and UT’s computer science program both earned No. 11 rankings.

In addition to its academic achievements, UT was recognized as the No. 16 “Most Innovated School” in the country. This recognition highlights the university’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and driving innovation in various fields.

These rankings are determined by U.S. News & World Report using 19 metrics to assess a school’s performance.
