Travis County is set to host a community conversation focusing on mental health diversion initiatives. The event will take place in person on May 7, 2024, from 6 pm to 8 pm CST at the Asian American Resource Center in Austin, Texas. It will provide updates on the Crisis Care Diversion Pilot and the Mental Health Diversion Center.
Those unable to attend in person can join an online version of the event scheduled for May 9, 2024. Both sessions are free and open to the public.
The agenda includes presentations from county staff, small group discussions, and large group conversations. Participants will have opportunities to share feedback and ask questions about the Mental Health Diversion Center’s design and planning.
“This will be a conversation that includes many people,” stated Travis County organizers, highlighting the involvement of community members, organizations, law enforcement agencies, and county staff.
Language accommodations include Spanish and ASL interpretation. Attendees requiring additional language support should specify their needs during registration by April 23, 2024.
