Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, Austin Independent School District (ISD) will implement a hub model for transportation services to and from several magnet and choice programs. These programs include Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, Kealing Magnet School, LASA, and Lively Magnet School.
The new transportation model means that buses will no longer stop at individual neighborhoods. Instead, they will pick up students at their nearest Austin ISD middle or high school. This change aims to provide accessible transportation while addressing financial challenges faced by the district.
According to Austin ISD, "the district anticipates students will spend less time on the bus since the buses will run directly between the hubs and the school with no additional neighborhood stops."
Families are encouraged to use available resources to find their nearest secondary school bus hub. For further details, families can visit Austin ISD's official website.
