The Austin Independent School District (ISD) has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This funding will enable further collaboration between Austin ISD and local artists and provide ongoing professional development for educators to enhance creative teaching.

This marks the tenth consecutive year that Austin ISD has received this grant. The funds will continue to support the collaborative efforts between the district and local artists, fostering an environment where creative learning can thrive.

The Creative Learning Initiative (CLI) is a collective-impact partnership involving Austin ISD, the non-profit arts organization MINDPOP, the City of Austin, and numerous Central Texas artists, arts organizations, and cultural institutions. CLI serves over 98 schools within Austin ISD, including all elementary schools in the district.

"This award will help the CLI advance and sustain the impacts of Creative Teaching, arts partnership, and arts learning equitably across Austin ISD," said Sloan McLain, Coordinator of CLI. "This is the kind of innovative teaching and learning unique to Austin ISD!"
