Austin FC II signs Adrián González ahead of new season

Austin FC II has announced the signing of midfielder Adrián González to its MLS NEXT Pro roster. The 21-year-old player joins the team on a contract that runs through 2026, with an option for 2027.

González has accumulated 112 professional appearances in both the USL Championship and MLS NEXT Pro. Last season, he achieved a personal best with three goals and five assists while playing for Columbus Crew 2 over 25 regular season matches.

Born in Santa Rosa, California, González holds dual citizenship in the United States and Mexico. His early career included time in the youth systems of CF Pachuca and LA Galaxy, eventually advancing to LA Galaxy's second team. During his four seasons with LA Galaxy II, now Ventura County FC, he played in 84 matches, scoring two goals and providing eight assists.

On the international stage, González has represented Mexico at youth levels, making 11 appearances between the U-16 and U-20 national teams.

Austin FC II will begin its 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season on March 7 against Colorado Rapids 2 at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center. Tickets for the match are currently available.

The current Austin FC II roster includes goalkeepers Marcus Alstrup; defenders Rubén Bonachera, Daniel Cieśla, Anthony De Anda, Antonio Gomez, Riley Thomas, Nico Van Rijn; midfielders Diego Abarca, Jorge Alastuey, Adrián González, Ervin Torres; and forwards Vlad Dǎnciuțiu, Anthony Garcia, Peter Grogan, Patrick Gryczewski.
