Austin FC secured a 1-0 victory against Sporting Kansas City in their season opener at Q2 Stadium. Osman Bukari scored the decisive goal, assisted by Owen Wolff, in the 76th minute. The match drew an attendance of 20,738, marking Austin's 71st consecutive MLS home sellout.
Throughout the first half, Austin appeared dominant with Guilherme Biro, Brandon Vazquez, and Owen Wolff all coming close to scoring. Despite these efforts, the teams went into halftime without any goals.
In the second half, Austin continued to press forward and was rewarded when Wolff delivered a corner kick that Bukari headed into the net. Vazquez nearly extended the lead shortly after but his shot hit the crossbar.
Austin's defense held firm in the closing minutes to maintain their lead and secure three points from their opening match.
