The Manor Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees has chosen Third Future Schools (TFS) as the charter operator for Manor Middle School's 1882 Partnership. This decision is part of Manor ISD’s efforts to enhance student outcomes through strategic partnerships that offer additional resources and innovative programs.

Third Future Schools is recognized nationally for its success in transforming schools and preparing students for future careers. Their approach aligns with Manor ISD’s objectives of equipping students with necessary skills and knowledge. The selection process involved community input, performance data analysis, and alignment with district goals.

"We look forward to working with Third Future Schools to enhance the academic performance of our students at Manor Middle School," stated Dr. Robert Sormani, Superintendent of Manor ISD. "This partnership represents an opportunity to provide these students with innovative learning strategies, enhanced educational experiences, and the tools they need to excel academically and beyond."

Previously, Manor Middle School had avoided an 1882 partnership due to expected passing grades for the 2022-2023 school year. However, if standards are not met in the 2023-2024 accountability score, it would be the fourth consecutive failing score for the campus. This situation could lead to a takeover by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

The TEA advises districts in similar situations to consider an 1882 partnership, which allows local decision-making in selecting a charter partner. It also delays potential TEA intervention by two years while providing time for academic improvement at Manor Middle School.

The next steps involve developing a contract detailing specific offerings and operational terms. Once finalized, this contract will be presented to the Manor ISD Board of Trustees for approval at an upcoming meeting.

Manor ISD remains committed to keeping families, staff, and stakeholders informed throughout this transition period as plans are finalized for the upcoming school year.
