This season, Pease Park Conservancy extends gratitude to the community for their dedication to preserving the city's natural spaces. The organization encourages individuals to enjoy the outdoors during the holidays, emphasizing the mental and physical health benefits of spending time in nature.
Pease Park Conservancy offers various volunteer opportunities throughout December. Activities include Operations Sundays, Litter Pick-Up Mondays, Riparian Rescue Tuesdays, Weeding Wednesdays, Loving Lamar Thursdays, Parks, Plants and People Fridays, and Garden Care Saturdays. These events are open to different age groups and take place at Kingsbury Commons and Live Oak Meadow.
The conservancy also highlights its commitment to maintaining Pease Park. "We serve the park so the park can serve you," they state. The team aims to protect and manage this 84-acre urban green space for public enjoyment.
In addition to volunteering, Pease Park Conservancy invites supporters to make end-of-year donations or purchase poinsettias as a form of support. Pre-ordered poinsettias are available for $15 each with limited availability. Pick-up is scheduled for early December.
The Giving Treehouse initiative allows donors to contribute towards preserving Pease Park's unique environment. Visitors can learn about how their donations will be utilized by visiting the Treehouse during the holiday season.
