Chair Vanessa Fuents called the Public Health Committee meeting to order at 10:00 AM.

Approval of Minutes
1. Approve the Public Health Committee minutes for the September 4, 2024 meeting. On the motion by Vice Chair Velásquez, and the second by Council Member Qadri the minutes for the September 4, 2024 meeting of the Public Health Committee were approved on a vote of 4-0.
Discussion and Possible Action
2. Discussion and possible action to consider appointment to the Central Health Board of Managers.
Discussed matters personal matters related to item 6. No action.
3. Discussion and possible action to approve the Public Health Committee meeting dates for 2025. On the motion by Vice Chair Velásquez, and the second by Council Member Ryan Alter that the 2025 meeting dates be approved with the removal of the January 8, 2025meeting date and skipping the July 2, 2025 dates were approved on a vote 4-0.

4. Receive an update from Central Health on the Housing for Health Partnership, Respite Care, and services for unhoused community members.

5. Receive an update on student and youth homelessness from Homeless Strategy Office.

Received the briefing on the State of the Homelessness Response System in Austin and Travis County by Kate Moore, VP of Homelessness Response System Strategy, ECHO , Joseph Montano, Director of Research and Evaluation, ECHO, Akram Al-Turk, former ECHO with recommendations to expanding current investments, development new investments, continue to prioritize collaboration and partner with other funders No action.
