Austin FC began November by celebrating the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos, a day dedicated to remembering loved ones who have passed away.

According to a November 2 press release issued by Austin FC, the Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, members of its supporter groups constructed an ofrenda, or altar, at Q2 Stadium’s Southwest Gate. This is the main entrance for the supporter group. The ofrenda featured traditional elements such as cempasúchil (marigolds), candles, papel picado, and other customary items.

Austin FC encouraged attendees to contribute pictures of deceased loved ones to the altar. Items and foods associated with those individuals' lives were also displayed. Celebrants enjoyed pan dulce and aguas frescas while Mariachi Voz De Pasión provided music for the event.

Verde will enter its fifth season in 2025 and is set to return to official play next February.
