Call to Order
Vice-Chair Qadri called the committee meeting to order at 1:01 p.m.
Public Communication: General
Irby Foster – Freeway lighting outages
Approval of Minutes
1. Approve the minutes of the Mobility Committee meeting on August 22, 2024.
The minutes of the August 22, 2024, Mobility Committee meeting was approved on Council Member Vela's motion, and Council Member Ellis's second, on a 3-0 vote with Council Members Harper-Madison and Kelly off the dais.
Briefings
2. Vison Zero Program Update, including Braton Springs and Cameron/Dessau Road Safety Project Item postponed.
3. Update from the Urban Transportation Commission (UTC) regarding actions from the September 3, 2024, meetings.
The committee received an update on recent discussion items at the Urban Transportation Commission from its Chair, Susan Somers.
4. Community-Driven Urban Trails Visions: The Big Loop and the Great Springs Trail.
The committee received briefings from John Eastman, Transportation and Public Works and Mikey Goralnik, Great Springs Project with Daniel Kavelman, Shoal Creek Conservancy in attendance to field questions.
5. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Update.
The committee received briefings from Ghislane Badwi, Chief Executive Officer, Department of Aviation, Tracy Thompson, Chief Officer of Business & External Affairs, Department of Aviation and Rajeev Thomas, Chief Financial Officer, Department of Aviation.
6. City of Austin Mobility Report
The Mobility Report was introduced to the committee by Richard Mendoza, Director, Transportation and Public Works. Future Items
7. Identify items to discuss at future meetings.
