Stonehoney, a roots rock group known for their four-part harmony singing, is set to perform in Texas this October. The band consists of Shawn Davis, Nick Randolph, Phil Hurley, and David Phenicie. Formed in Los Angeles in 2006, Stonehoney quickly gained recognition as a prominent live act. Their music attracted the attention of producer Ric Wake, leading to their debut album "Songs From a Hillside Living Room."
While traveling to Nashville, the group had an encounter in Austin with Polly Parsons. She introduced them to Eddie Wilson, owner of Threadgills and Armadillo World Headquarters. Embraced by Wilson and his friends, Stonehoney decided to move to Austin instead of Nashville.
In Austin, they were signed by Jimmy LaFave's Music Road Records and recorded "The Cedar Creek Sessions" with contributions from musicians like Earl Poole Ball and Ken Coomer. The band toured extensively across the United States for several years.
Stonehoney disbanded in 2011 but has reunited twice since then. Their upcoming performance marks their first return to Texas since parting ways. Fans worldwide have kept their songs alive over the years.
