On Monday, September 30, 2024, Austin Police responded to a shooting at 9120 Northgate Blvd. The call came in at approximately 8:20 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Black male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as Ahsun Madison and was pronounced deceased on the scene at 9:01 p.m.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old Hispanic male who had been involved in multiple shootings earlier this year. Although not the shooter in Homicide #4, he was present during that incident and was out on bond for prior shootings.

The investigation indicated that the suspect shot and killed Madison at the apartment complex before fleeing. Austin Police Gang Detectives located the suspect, leading to his arrest for murder. He has been booked into Gardner-Betts for first-degree murder.
