Copenhagen Imports has unveiled its newly expanded showroom at 4501 W. Braker Lane in Austin. The soft opening took place last week, marking a significant milestone for the family-owned company that has been serving the Austin community since 1993.
“I can’t begin to tell you how excited our Austin staff is about our new location,” said Jens Hansen, President and CEO of Copenhagen. “We’ve been in Austin for over three decades and this is, by far, our most impressive store yet. More space, more products, more staff, and a much more convenient location. Our aim is to offer an even more exciting and uplifting furniture shopping experience than ever before.”
To celebrate the new location, Copenhagen will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Austin Chamber of Commerce on the morning of September 27. The official Grand Opening event will take place from Saturday, September 28 through Sunday, September 29. The first 300 guests will receive a special gift while supplies last, and attendees can enjoy complimentary champagne and soft drinks. There will also be a chance to win a recliner and ottoman by Stressless® of Norway.
In addition to these festivities, Copenhagen will run a promotion from the Grand Opening weekend until Sunday, October 13. Customers can buy one item at full price and get 35% off the second item of equal or lesser value, as well as receive 10% off any other items in their purchase (some exclusions apply).
“Our products encapsulate the ‘less is more’ concept, creating clean, comfortable environments that relax the mind and body,” stated Hansen. “What’s more, our floor teams arrange furniture and accessories in coordinated, room-like vignettes so shoppers can get a vision of what the total look could be in their home.”
The new store spans over 30,000 square feet and offers tailored end-to-end service to assist customers throughout their furniture-buying process. This includes friendly assistance from Copenhagen’s sales team, interior design help, delivery services, and repairs done by experienced in-house staff. Newly added services like financing with Affirm and floorplanning software available on the website allow Copenhagen to keep pace with innovation.
Founded by Danish immigrants Erik Hansen and Tony Christensen in Phoenix in 1970 with a vision of bringing Scandinavian design to the United States, Copenhagen now operates six other stores across Arizona and Texas.
“Our Danish heritage gave us a steppingstone into the modern Scandinavian look we are dedicated to,” said Jens Hansen. “Our styles have withstood the test of time, and many items we sold 50 years ago are still relevant today.” He added that Copenhagen’s charity events have raised $250,000 for local food banks across Texas and Arizona over the past three years.
The new showroom at Highway 183 aims to serve both longtime enthusiasts of modern design and casual fans looking for contemporary furniture pieces. Visit Copenhagen's new store or shop online at CopenhagenLiving.com.
“We’d like to invite everyone to come test us out,” said Jens Hansen. “You will not be disappointed.”
