Austin FC fell in a 1-0 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium.

The most significant moment of the first half occurred just before halftime when Vancouver believed they had taken the lead through Ryan Gauld. However, a video review determined that a Whitecaps player was offside during the play, keeping the game scoreless.

The visitors eventually went ahead in the 70th minute. Gauld laid the ball off for Pedro Vite at the edge of the penalty area, who struck a powerful shot into the side netting.

The Verde & Black pressed forward in search of an equalizer in the closing minutes but ultimately came up short on the night.
