Austin FC II will put its three-match winning streak to the test this Monday evening when the Verde & Black face St. Louis City 2 on the road. The match is set for a 6:00 p.m. CT kickoff and is available to watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Austin continued its climb up the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference table with a win over MNUFC2 on Wednesday night. CJ Fodrey provided a goal and an assist in a man-of-the-match performance. The winger has been in excellent form as of late, with five goals and three assists in his last four matches.

The Verde & Black now find themselves within touching distance of the playoff line with six games remaining. A win in St. Louis could see Austin move into a playoff position, but it will be no easy feat.

ATXFC II narrowly lost both prior meetings with St. Louis this season. In their last visit to CITYPARK in May, it took a stoppage-time winner for City 2 to emerge victorious.

St. Louis is near the top of the MLSNP Western Conference as the season enters its homestretch, with 43 points from 22 games. City 2 hit a slight rough patch with three straight defeats in late July and early August but have since bounced back.

The team’s two most recent games were a 3-0 win over MNUFC2 and a 4-0 statement victory over fellow conference favorites North Texas SC. Defender Jayden Reid has been a standout all season, while Mykhi Joyner has been the primary offensive threat with 12 goals to his name.

St. Louis has proven that they don’t need to have the ball to hurt you. Though their average possession of 47.2% is 25th in MLSNP, they are tough to break down, as evidenced by the fact that the team allows the third-fewest goals per game in the league.
