The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) will observe Professional Women in Building (PWB) Week from September 9 to 13, 2024. This event celebrates the contributions of women to the residential construction industry.
Throughout the week, NAHB will provide various content, including discussions, blog posts, and social media highlights that emphasize women's achievements in different areas of the industry. The initiative aims to promote, train, advance, and welcome more women into the field.
Each day of PWB Week will focus on a specific theme:
- **Monday, Sept. 9**: Emphasis on supporting the next generation in residential construction with a Q&A session featuring the NAHB Student Chapter president at Norfolk State University.
- **Tuesday, Sept. 10**: A Shop Talk session titled "How to Recruit and Retain Women in the Residential Construction Industry" at 11 a.m. ET and profiles celebrating Tradeswomen Tuesday.
- **Wednesday, Sept. 11**: Recognition of women making significant impacts in the industry through features on past PWB award winners.
- **Thursday, Sept. 12**: Another Shop Talk session at 11 a.m. ET focusing on "Allies for Women in the Residential Construction Industry."
- **Friday, Sept. 13**: The week concludes with a social media takeover celebrating PWB members and local councils using hashtags #NAHBWomenInBuilding and #NAHBWomenInBuildingWeek.
