The annual Salute staff recognition ceremony, held on May 8 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, celebrated this year's finalists and winners. The event was marked by a significant presence of McCallum High School journalists who were there to celebrate the honorees.
This celebration holds immense importance as it acknowledges the incredible dedication, hard work, and effort that teachers and staff put into enriching students’ lives. Such events serve to amplify the joy of education and highlight the impact happening in Austin ISD schools.
For the first time this year, the awards expanded to 10 categories. The categories included Teacher of the Year, Teaching Assistant of the Year, Counselor of the Year, Librarian of the Year, Campus Clerical Staff of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year, Principal of the Year, Transportation Staff of the Year, Campus Safety and Security Staff of the Year, Custodial/Facilities Maintenance Staff of the Year and Food Service/Warehouse Staff of the Year.
The ceremony served as an opportunity for everyone to appreciate and send their regards to all those recognized for their outstanding contributions.
