Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has securted a settlement with Multi Media, LLC, the operator of the popular pornographic website "Chaturbate," to ensure compliance with Texas state laws regarding age verification. The agreement requires Multi Media to implement an age verification service on the Chaturbate website to uphold the state's regulations.

In March, Attorney General Paxton took legal action against Multi Media for failing to adhere to HB 1181, a Texas law mandating that providers of explicit material establish effective age verification systems to safeguard minors from exposure to adult content. Violators of the age verification provisions face fines of up to $10,000 per day, with an additional $10,000 per day penalty for retaining unauthorized user information, and a hefty $250,000 fine if a child is exposed to pornographic material due to inadequate age verification.

This settlement is part of Attorney General Paxton's ongoing efforts to enforce Texas laws within the adult entertainment industry. He has previously filed lawsuits against other major pornography companies like Hammy Media and Aylo Global for similar violations of state regulations.

"It’s a very positive development that this company has decided to follow the law and begin reasonable age verification measures designed to protect Texas children from harmful material," said Paxton. He also urged other pornography companies to take a cue from this example and voluntarily uphold legal standards for the protection of minors.
