City of Austin City Council met March 26.

The City Council of Austin, Texas, convened in a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Austin City Hall 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin, TX and via videoconference.

Mayor Watson called the Council Meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Mayor Pro Tem Pool, Council Members Alison Alter, Ryan Alter, Ellis, and Velásquez were off the dais.

Mayor Watson recessed the meeting to go into Executive Session at 8:30 a.m. without objection.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

The City Council went into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and personnel matters as specifically listed on this agenda and to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda.

1. Discuss personnel issues related to the appointment of new city manager (Personnel matters - Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code).

Conducted.

Mayor Watson reconvened the Council Meeting at 1:35 p.m.

Mayor Watson recessed the meeting at 1:35 p.m. without objection.

Mayor Watson reconvened the Council Meeting and recessed the meeting to go into Executive Session at 4:00 p.m. without objection.

The City Council went into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and personnel matters as specifically listed on this agenda and to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda.

Mayor Watson reconvened the Council Meeting at 5:58 p.m.

Mayor Watson adjourned the Council Meeting at 5:59 p.m. without objection.

The minutes were approved on this the 4th day of April 2024 on consent on Council Member Ryan Alter’s motion, Council Member Harper-Madison’s second on an 11-0 vote.
