Chair Vanessa Fuentes called the Public Health Committee meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Public Communication: General

Approval of Minutes

1. Approve the Public Health Committee minutes for February 7, 2024 meeting. On the motion by Council Member Ryan Alter and second by Council Member Zohaib Qadri, the minutes for the February 7, 2024 meeting of the Public Health Committee were approved on a vote 4-0.
Discussion and Possible Action
2. Discussion and possible action to fill a vacancy for a director on the Central Health Board of Managers
On the motion by Vice Chair Valesquz and second by Council Member Ryan Alter, the Committee recommends the appointment of Eliza Maze to the Central Health Board of Managers on a vote 4-0.
3. Discussion and possible action regarding the appointment of a member to the Sobering Center Local Government Corporation Board of Directors
On the motion by Council Member Zohaib Qadri and the second by Council Member Ryan Alter, the Committee recommends the reappointment of Anwar Sophy to the Sobering Center Board of Directors passed on vote 3-0 with Vice Chair off the dais.

4. Receive a briefing on the marshalling yard temporary emergency shelter operations, cold weather shelter operations and Healther Austin partners for David Gray.
Andrew Willard Senior Planner with Homeless Strategy Office, Matt Millon, Director of Social Finance and Zor Burhop, Assistant Director Social Finance briefed Committee on the marshalling yard temporary emergency shelter operations, and cold weather shelter operations.

5. Discussion and possible action regarding the appointment of a member to the Central Health Board of Managers (Personnel matters Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code).
Discussed matters related to item 2. The Committee interviewed applicants to fill the vacancy on the Central Health Board of Managers.
6. Discussion and possible action regarding the appointment of a member to the Sobering Center Local Government Corporation Board of Directors (Personnel matters Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code).

Future Items
CM R. Alter would like a presentation on each program cost and client success rate from the Homeless Strategy Office.
