City of Austin City Council met Feb. 27.

The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session Meeting on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin, TX and via videoconference.

Mayor Pro Tem Pool called the Council Meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Council Members Ellis and Kelly attended virtually. Mayor Watson was absent.

A. PRE-SELECTED AGENDA ITEMS

73. Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance amending City Code Title 25 to create a new zoning district for a density bonus program that grants 30 feet in height above the base zone, to a maximum of 90 feet, and modifies site development regulations, including compatibility standards; and initiating rezoning 01 certain properties. Related to item #70.

B. BRIEFINGS

Bl. Austin Water forward update: Reuse Plan

The presentation was made by Shay Rails Roalson, Austin Water Director.

B2. Fiscal Year 2023 closeout and sales tax revenue update.

The presentation was made by Ed Van Eenoo, CFO, and Kerri Lang, Budget Officer.

B3. Briefing on redevelopment of 1215 Red River Street and 606 East 12th Street, the fonner Health South tract.

The presentation was made by Mandy DeMayo, Housing Interim Director, and Daren Smith, Economic and Planning Systems.

Direction was given to staff to provide clarification on whether the State Capitol Corridor was created by the State.

Mayor Pro Tem Pool adjourned the meeting at 12:04 p.m. without objection.

The minutes were approved on this the 21 St day of March 2024 was approved on consent on Council Member Qadri'§ motion, Council Member Alison Alter's second on an 1 1-0 vote.
