One year after being hired as Favor Delivery’s Chief Taco Officer, Chris Flores has been promoted to Chief Tasting Officer and the company is looking to build a team of Order-In Experts. According to Flores, this new position will allow him to highlight food culture in Texas.
"It has been an honor being Favor’s Chief Taco Officer, and I cannot wait to begin my new position as Favor’s Chief Tasting Officer. This expanded role will allow me to continue sharing my love of tacos and their significance in Texas culture, while discovering and sharing even more foods and restaurants that deserve to be spotlighted across our great state.", said Chris Flores.
A press release by Favor revealed that Flores was hired in Apr. 2022 as Chief Taco Officer following a comprehensive search across Texas involving hundreds of candidates. In his previous role, he had the opportunity to traverse the state in pursuit of its best tacos. His endeavors also included community outreach initiatives such as distributing free tacos in Corpus Christi and donating 50,000 meals in association with Teka Molino to the San Antonio Food Bank.
Although initially expected to be a two-month appointment, Favor chose to extend Flores’ responsibilities indefinitely. In his upgraded role as Chief Tasting Officer, apart from continuing as the company’s authority on tacos, he will branch out into exploring other facets of Texan gastronomy including BBQs and burgers.
Favor plans on assembling a squad of Order-In Experts alongside promoting Flores. These individuals would assist in identifying their city's top dishes. Their tasks would involve serving as research associates for the Chief Tasting Officer, assigned cuisines popular based on data gathered by Favor. The company expressed particular interest in residents from Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Corpus Christi,Waco-Killeen-Temple,Lubbock,Rio Grande Valley,Midland-Odessa,and Bryan-College Station metro areas.
According to Keith Duncan, CEO of Favor Delivery, the promotion of Flores along with the recruitment of Order-In Experts would play a key role in "showcasing all Texas’ favorite cuisines, as well as helping Texans discover new restaurants and dishes to order in."
Favor, a food delivery application, was established in Austin in 2013. Over the years, it has extended its services to over 400 cities across Texas.
