Country music legend Dolly Parton has been selected to perform at the halftime show of the Thanksgiving matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders on November 23, 2023, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Parton expressed her excitement about the performance in a post on October 16, saying, "Can't wait to see everyone at the @SalvationArmyUS Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the @DallasCowboys game. Tune in to @CBSSports November 23, Thanksgiving Day, at 3:30 P.M. CST for a performance that will rock."

According to a report on the Cowboys' website, Parton is a highly acclaimed artist with 11 Grammy Awards and 25 chart-topping hits to her name. She recently visited the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex in May when she co-hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards at The Star in Frisco.

Parton joins an exclusive group of artists who have performed at the Cowboys' halftime show, including Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, Clint Black, Jessica Simpson, Creed, LeeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith, Destiny's Child, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Keith Urban, and Enrique Iglesias.

In football news, the Cowboys are coming off a hard-fought 20-17 road victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Dak Prescott led the team to victory with 272 passing yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys will have a bye week before they face the Los Angeles Rams on October 29.
