A primary care program that caters to the needs of Medicare-eligible Hispanic seniors, Suvida Healthcare, recently held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for its inaugural clinic in South Austin. According to the Austin Chamber, the ceremony took place on June 16 at 500 W William Cannon Lane and those attending included legislators and officials.

The event included performances by local mariachis, ballet folklorico and music from Hot Tejano radio, a cooking class and other fun activities and giveaways. Those attending included Congressman Lloyd Doggett, State Representative Lulu Flores, Travis County Commissioner Margaret Gomez and Austin City Councilmember Ryan Alter. Representatives from Austin Councilmember Vanessa Fuentes and Mayor Kirk Watson’s offices were also in attendance.
According to the release by Austin Chamber, Suvida Healthcare is committed to providing "culturally competent" healthcare.
