For the second week in a row, the Dallas Cowboys demonstrated that Dak Prescott’s absence was just a minor setback.

Cooper Rush, in his second start under center, amassed 210 yards through the air to go with a short touchdown lob to CeeDee Lamb to lead the Cowboys to a 23-13 road victory over their previously undefeated National Football Conference (NFC) East foes, the New York Giants, on Monday, per an Associated Press (AP) report that was ran by Dallas-Fort Worth ABC affiliate WFAA.

The AP reported that the Lamb’s go-ahead grab nearly midway through the fourth quarter made up for a dropped ball in the second quarter the third-year wide receiver blamed himself for.

“That fade catch was unbelievable,” Rush, who’s now 3-0 as the Cowboys’ starting field general, said in the report. “I’m sure he wants that other one back, but made tons of plays for us, like usual.”

Dallas and New York traded places in the driver’s seat through much of the contest until Cowboys running back Zeke Elliot’s jog toward the end zone in the waning moments of the third quarter.

Then it was all Cowboys the rest of the way.

"We the Giant slayers, man,” ex-Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant said in a postgame tweet.

Defensively, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence collected three sacks for the first time since 2018 and the third time in his eight-year career, a report on the Cowboys’ website said.

A foot injury; however, forced Lawrence to leave the game in the third quarter, but his comrades continued to terrorize Giants quarterback Daniel Jones by adding two more sacks and applying pressure in 24 snaps.

The defense kept Jones from throwing more than 200 yards, according to the team.

The AP reported that the Cowboys continued the trend of allowing just a touchdown against the Giants just as they had in its previous two games.

While the season is still young, the NFC East is shaping up to be among the most competitive divisions in the National Football League (NFL) with the Philadelphia Eagles holding sway as one of two undefeated teams remaining at 3-0 and both the Cowboys and the Giants sporting 2-1 marks as of Tuesday.
