SAM Party of Texas and Forward Party of Texas have issued the following press release:
AUSTIN and HOUSTON, TX (June 2, 2022) – Bill King, State Chair for the SAM Party of Texas and Rick Kennedy, State Chair for the Forward Party of Texas, announced today that the two parties will hold a joint convention on September 24 in Houston. The convention will focus on principles and practices of democracy reform in Texas and in America as a whole.
SAM and Forward are Texas’ newest political parties and are working to provide Texans an alternative to the current dysfunctional two-party system. SAM and Forward both believe that through clearly defined principles, civil political dialogue, and a re-dedication to civic engagement, pragmatic and positive solutions can be found to the problems facing our State and our Nation.
The joint convention will be held at the Norris Conference Center at Houston City Centre. The schedule will include morning and afternoon sessions as well as a lunch and cocktail hour after the convention closes.
Speakers will include former Presidential candidate Andrew Yang and former members of Congress David Jolly and Chris Bell.
