On Friday, June 28, 2024, at approximately 10:08 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of West Ben White Boulevard SVRD WB. The driver, identified as Gerald Farcus, was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

This incident marks Austin’s 37th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 38 fatalities for the year. Comparatively, on the same date in 2023, there were 49 fatal crashes resulting in 49 fatalities.
