Based in Austin, Texas, Russel Taine Jr. is the musical project led by Aaron Winston. Originally from New Jersey, Winston relocated to Texas after discovering areas where Bon Jovi was not a constant presence on the radio.
“It’s not that I don’t love Livin’ On A Prayer,” Winston says. “I just never want to hear it again.”
Russel Taine Jr.’s music has been described as a blend of “Uncle Tupelo meets Millennial power pop” and “If Tom Petty was from Texas, but with more Iggy Pop.” The band includes Aaron Winston on songwriting, vocals, and guitar; Justin Winslow on bass; Wes Armstrong on drums; and Dylan Hill on lead guitar and backing vocals.
