Arjun Sharda, a 12-year-old student from Round Rock, has recently established a nonprofit organization named TLEEM. The acronym stands for Technology, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, and Mathematics, reflecting Sharda’s mission to aid his peers in honing their skills in these areas.
According to The Williamson County Sun, Sharda is not only an entrepreneur but also an author, founder, open source maintainer and contributor, and speaker. Now he can add the title of founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to his list of accomplishments. With assistance from his mother, Sharda registered TLEEM as a nonprofit with the Texas Secretary of State on Oct. 29 and applied for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS on Nov. 14.
TLEEM has received a monthly ad grant of $10,000 through Google’s Nonprofit Program. Currently boasting four chapters – two of which are international – TLEEM is actively orchestrating various initiatives such as conferences and networking programs.
The Williamson County Sun reports that TLEEM comprises 13 individuals: four board members, six software engineers and two chapter adjudicators. Furthermore, TLEEM aims to host a conference in 2025 that will explore how people are revolutionizing the fields of technology, leadership, entrepreneurship, engineering, and mathematics.
Sharda has been instrumental in several tech-related projects including Searchor (a Python library for web development), Passeo (a Python encryption library based on Fernet), TimeConv (a time conversion website created using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap), NextGuild (a Python project for interacting with the Guilded API), and Quotifo (a JavaScript library that returns quotes in JSON format). As stated on his website, Sharda also self-published “The Salesperson’s Direction to Clients,” a guidebook aimed at those aspiring to excel in sales.
Sharda has also participated in speaking engagements, as reported by The Williamson County Sun. In August 2023, he spoke about the ethical use of artificial intelligence and machine learning at the DeveloperWeek Cloud X Conference in San Mateo, California. This aligns with his overarching goal to positively impact the world through his work.
