Ray Benson’s Annual Birthday Bash in Austin, Texas, has successfully raised $305,648 to support the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). The event featured performances by DJ KICKIT, Rochelle and the Sidewinders, Hayes & the Heathens, and Asleep at the Wheel with special guests including Cody Braun, Ray’s son Sam Seifert, Jake Worthington, Willi Carlisle, Jimmie Vaughan, and Steve Earle.

The funds collected will aid HAAM’s mission to provide affordable healthcare for Central Texas’ working musicians. “Thank you to the over 1,400 attendees who helped us celebrate one of HAAM’s founding board members,” said a representative from HAAM.

Support came from stage sponsors Big P’s Wine Jamboree and Untamed J’s Shots Saloon as well as Delaware North. Major contributions were also received from GSD&M and others such as Ascension Seton and Chevron – in memory of Steve Perry. The event expressed gratitude towards its numerous sponsors including ATX Backline and Coca-Cola.

The organization encourages supporters to sponsor a table or become a Pearl Society member for next year’s event. For more information on sponsorship opportunities or tickets for next year’s bash, interested parties are advised to contact Matthew Alvarado.
