Every child deserves to feel loved and celebrated, especially on their birthday. Birthday parties provide children with joy and recognition and create cherished memories that strengthen family bonds. The Rathgeber Center for Families understands how important birthdays are for children. That’s why they host monthly birthday parties, making sure each child feels special and celebrated on their big day.

On June 26, 2024, The Rathgeber Center for Families organized a safari-themed birthday party to celebrate all the children living in the shelter who were born in June. From animal masks to various sweet treats, this party was well-received. Each birthday child even got to open a gift specifically picked out for them from their wish list. Families came together with games, safari-themed activities, and painting to celebrate their loved one’s recent birthday.

“We are so thankful for the ways our community comes together to make our children feel special,” said a representative from The Rathgeber Center for Families.

Celebrate You, a local charity dedicated to organizing children’s birthday parties, joins the center each month to bring decorations and themed party activities. Bake-A-Wish donates baked goods for each birthday party at Rathgeber and ensures each child receives a personalized cake on their actual birthday. NCL volunteers also play a crucial role by dedicating their time to support the parties each month.

“If you would like to get involved with our parties, check out our Amazon Wish List to see how you can help provide for our children’s birthdays!” added the representative.
