The Texas Rangers have claimed their first-ever victory in the 2023 World Series, sweeping the Arizona Diamondbacks four games to one in the best-of-seven championship round for Major League Baseball’s (MLB) grand prize. This achievement comes after two unsuccessful attempts more than a decade ago.

“Bochy Ball forever,” said the newly crowned champions in a post-Game 5 Tweet, referencing their first-year manager Bruce Bochy who has previously won the Commissioner’s Trophy three times with the San Francisco Giants.

Despite failing to cover homefield advantage at Globe Life Field in Game 2, the Rangers managed to clinch the final game on the road in Phoenix on Nov. 1. According to a report from the Rangers’ website, this win signifies the culmination of a 50-year journey since moving to North Texas from Washington D.C. The final game seemed to be heading towards a pitcher’s duel until an offensive surge by the Rangers assisted starter Nathan Eovaldi and disrupted Zac Gallen’s bid for a no-hitter.

In recognition of his impressive performance during 2023, infielder Corey Seager was honored with World Series Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Per an MLB report, this is his second Willie Mays World Series MVP Award following his initial win in 2020 while playing for Los Angeles Dodgers at same venue. With this accolade, Seager joins distinguished Hall of Famers Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson and Reggie Jackson who have been named Fall Classic MVP more than once.

According to WFAA News, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) ABC station, a championship parade is set to take place between Ranger’s ballpark and AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Nov. 3. Arlington Mayor Jim Ross informed that he along with other city leaders will spend all night planning this celebration.
