Q2 Stadium will offer free rides on the CapMetro Red Line for Austin FC fans attending the final match of the season on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The fare waiver is part of Noche VERDE, a celebration dedicated to Austin FC supporters.

Fans can ride the commuter rail to and from McKalla Station, located near Q2 Stadium, without paying fares throughout the day. The match between Austin FC and LAFC is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., but pre-match activities will start earlier at Live Oak Park from 3:30 p.m., featuring live music and refreshments.

CapMetro will also provide special event service on October 12 for both the soccer match and the Austin City Limits Festival. Higher than usual train ridership is expected, so passengers are encouraged to check schedules in advance and plan accordingly by visiting capmetro.org.

“CapMetro connects people, jobs, and communities by providing Central Texans with safe, high-quality, and sustainable transportation alternatives. The agency provides over 83,000 daily trips on its buses, trains, paratransit, and vanpool vehicles and serves a population of more than 1.2 million in its 543-square-mile service area. The region’s transportation leader, CapMetro has invested in transit services like its High-Frequency Network, which moves more people, more reliably. CapMetro is committed to increasing regional mobility and, through Project Connect, will transform how people travel throughout Central Texas. Visit capmetro.org for more information.”

“Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC officially began competing in MLS in April 2021 and played its first match at home on June 19, 2021, in the new, 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art Q2 Stadium in Austin. In its second year, Austin FC finished the regular season 2nd in the Western Conference, while also making a run to the Western Conference Finals during the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs.”

“Austin FC also operates Austin FC II, a professional-level development team competing in MLS NEXT Pro which won the league title during its inaugural season in 2023. In addition, Austin FC operates Austin FC Academy which is the fully funded developmental academy representing the highest level of competition for elite youth soccer players in Central Texas, while serving as the exclusive developmental pathway to MLS for the region’s most talented young players. Combined, Austin FC II and Austin FC Academy teams complete the pro player pathway between elite youth soccer (MLS NEXT) all the way to MLS, and allow for players to develop, improve, and move up to Austin FC or Austin FC II.”

The fare-free initiative supports increased access to public transportation for large events held at Q2 Stadium while accommodating local community needs.
