Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has announced that Porter Airlines will begin nonstop service between Austin and Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ) starting May 21, 2026. The new year-round route will operate five times a week, giving Central Texas travelers more options to reach Canada’s largest city.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Porter Airlines as a new partner at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport,” said AUS Chief Executive Officer Ghizlane Badawi. “Expanding international connectivity is a key priority for AUS, and we’re delighted to welcome this new nonstop service to Toronto, which will provide our travelers with more convenient options to connect for business, leisure, and beyond.”

Tom Noonan, President & CEO of Visit Austin, stated: “We are excited to welcome our Canadian neighbors to the Live Music Capital of the World. This new airline and nonstop service not only makes it easier for Austinites to explore what Toronto and the rest of Canada have to offer, but it also opens a front door for international visitors to experience Austin’s legendary music scene, world-class culinary community, and vibrant culture. We look forward to sharing the unique soul and hospitality that make Austin a premier global destination.”

Porter Airlines is based in Toronto and offers an all-economy cabin with two service levels: PorterClassic includes complimentary snacks and beverages served in real glassware; PorterReserve adds extra legroom, priority check-in and boarding, plus fresh meal selections on longer flights. All passengers receive free high-speed Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat, and no middle seats aboard the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

Andrew Pierce, Vice President of Network Planning and Reporting at Porter Airlines said: “This Austin-Toronto route connects two vibrant centers and gives passengers the opportunity to enjoy Porter’s unmatched economy experience on every flight. Austin is another exciting step in Porter’s growing North American network, with connections available across Canada via YYZ.”

Toronto serves as Canada’s financial center with industries such as technology, film production, finance, and advanced manufacturing. The city features attractions like the CN Tower and Lake Ontario waterfront as well as access to regional destinations including Niagara Falls.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport continues its commitment to expanding travel options internationally from Central Texas. The airport already provides nonstop flights across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Europe according to its official website. It is owned by the City of Austin Department of Aviation and features terminals such as Barbara Jordan Terminal for domestic carriers along with South Terminal serving low-cost or international airlines.

The airport incorporates live music performances and art exhibits reflecting local culture and offers various traveler services including parking options and ground transportation.

Tickets for the new Porter Airlines route will be available soon through FlyPorter.com/en-us/ or local travel agents.
