On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at approximately 5:37 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 900 block of N IH 35 NB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured, remained on the scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 60th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 65 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, there were 63 fatal crashes resulting in 66 fatalities.
