On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at approximately 5:59 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 13600 block of North US Highway 183 NB. The vehicle involved left the scene. The pedestrian, an unidentified female, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 33rd fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 34 fatalities for the year. On the same date in 2023, there had been 43 fatal crashes resulting in 43 fatalities.
