Pedestrian dies after collision on West Parmer Lane; police seek information

Austin police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on October 14, 2025, in the 1100 block of West Parmer Lane. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:22 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was identified as Emilio Gonzalez, a Hispanic male born on March 1, 2002. Gonzalez was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead on October 16, 2025.

According to police, the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and cooperated with investigators.

“This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 76th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 80 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 69 fatal crashes resulted in 74 deaths. These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.”
