May is a busy month for many, and Pease Park Conservancy is offering several events to help people relax and focus on mental health. With the upcoming Mental Health Awareness Month, the conservancy has organized activities aimed at providing a respite from daily obligations.

“May is full of obligations for a lot of us and the world can feel pretty heavy,” said Pease Park Conservancy. “Going for a walk, breathing fresh air, and spending unstructured time with friends or loved ones can help you care for your mental health.”

The first event, “Parent + Child Mindfulness with Dr. Allyson Bates,” will take place on Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. This workshop focuses on mindfulness in nature for parents and their infants aged 0-12 months. Activities include mindful breathing, nature-based sensory play, infant development activities, mindful movement, and supportive discussions.

Another event is the “Sound Bath with MASS Gallery” scheduled for Friday, May 23, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. The event features ambient music designed for deep listening and relaxation. Local artists and musicians will provide two instrumental ambient sets and one DJ session.

On Saturday, May 24, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, there will be a “Woodland Walk: Forest Habitats.” Participants will learn about the forest ecosystem in Kingsbury Commons, including its unique geology and species.

“A Path to Pease: 3rd Annual Black Swan Yoga Wellness Day” is set for Sunday, June 1, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This wellness festival includes yoga sessions and sound healing among other activities. The event is donation-based with $15 per person recommended.

Additionally, the Splash Pad at Pease Park is now operational daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Pease Park Conservancy invites everyone to join these events as an opportunity to slow down and recharge.
