Pease Park Conservancy announced on Mar. 17 that Squirrel Fest will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. The event will feature a range of family-friendly activities, food vendors, music performances, and an outdoor screening of the movie Zootopia on the Great Lawn.
Squirrel Fest is described as Austin’s favorite spring celebration for families and is presented by H-E-B Tournament of Champions in collaboration with Pease Park Conservancy and Future Front Texas. The festival aims to bring together community members for creative workshops such as nature painting with Kayla Kennedy, friendship bracelet making and recycled collage with Future Front, fairy village clay time with Tanya Zal, sun prints and cyanotypes also led by Future Front, a puppet show by Small Wonders Entertainment, a Book Bus from Austin Bat Cave’s Stories on the Go program, squirrel origami with JASGA, a moth study session with Dr. Eckerman, and the Mile of Silence installation by HCRA. DJ Honey Pocket and DJ Sonder are scheduled to perform during the event.
Food options at Squirrel Fest will include offerings from Zee’s Wiener System, El Mariachi’s Tacos, Five O Four, Terrace Tavern by Pease Park Conservancy, SnoRide ATX, Liquid Death, Lady Bird Soda, Waterloo Sparkling Water, Brother Friend Coffee, and snacks from Siete Foods.
