Pease Park Conservancy announced on Mar. 31 a range of volunteer opportunities for the spring season, including recurring Pease Corps events and the annual Squirrel Fest 2026. The organization is inviting individuals and groups to help maintain and improve Pease Park through various activities.

These efforts aim to keep the park green, clean, and welcoming for all visitors. Volunteers will work alongside the Park Operations Team on tasks such as collecting litter, mulching plants, watering trees, spreading seeds, removing invasive species, and supporting event logistics.

Squirrel Fest 2026 is open to individuals aged 13 and older, with youth under 16 requiring adult supervision. The event offers a family-friendly environment where volunteers can assist partners with setup, support activations, collect litter, and contribute to making the celebration enjoyable for everyone.

The conservancy also encourages corporate groups or community organizations interested in volunteering together to submit requests for group participation. Recurring Pease Corps events are available seven days a week throughout the park’s trails and gathering spaces along Shoal Creek.

Pease Park Conservancy secures private funding to support maintenance, improvements, and programming beyond what city resources provide according to the official website. The organization promotes inclusivity by keeping the park accessible while fostering community engagement through various initiatives according to the official website. As manager of public parkland featuring trails along Shoal Creek according to the official website, it oversees a total of 84 acres in central Austin according to the official website.

Serving as an official partner with the City of Austin for ongoing care of Pease Park according to the official website, Pease Park Conservancy aims “to restore, protect and maintain Pease Park as a dynamic natural and cultural asset for the public” according to the official website.

Looking ahead into spring 2026 programs at Pease Park will include learning opportunities among wildflowers as well as creative workshops designed for community connection.
