Pease Park Conservancy has announced its lineup of spring 2026 programs, offering a variety of activities and events for the community. The organization invites the public to participate in wellness, arts, conservation, and learning opportunities throughout the season.

The schedule includes recurring events that focus on art, conservation, education, and wellness. Among these is “Yoga for Pease,” presented by Black Swan Yoga and benefiting Pease Park Conservancy. The event will take place on Sunday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a suggested donation of $15 per person. Organizers describe it as “a community-centered wellness event inspired by the spirit of Austin’s former Whole Lotta Yoga, with a renewed focus on accessibility, collaboration, and giving back to one of the city’s most cherished public spaces.” They encourage attendees to “come together for an afternoon of movement, connection, and collective impact.”

Another featured activity is “War in Pease,” a Pat Lochridge Classic 3v3 basketball tournament and free throw competition scheduled for Sunday, March 8 at 9 a.m., with a team entry fee of $60. The tournament is open to players aged 15 or older. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team as well as teams recognized for their name or spirit.

Several large-scale community events are also planned under the park’s oak and sycamore trees. These include:

– RISE: Freedom Community Festival on March 29 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., presented in partnership with Art Is Cool. The festival aims to celebrate Austin’s Black freedom communities through activities, music, food, and discussions.
– Squirrel Fest on April 11 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., which features family-friendly activities such as crafts and food vendors followed by an outdoor screening of “Zootopia.”
– Pride Picnic on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., co-hosted with Future Front Texas for its fifth year. The event will feature music, vendors, food and drinks.

Pease Park Conservancy manages public parkland along Shoal Creek in central Austin that includes trails and gathering spaces across its 84 acres. As the official partner with the City of Austin for ongoing care and enhancement efforts at Pease Park (source), the organization secures private funding for maintenance and programming beyond what city resources provide (source). Its mission centers on restoring and maintaining Pease Park as both a natural environment and cultural asset accessible to all visitors (source).

The Conservancy also promotes inclusivity through initiatives that keep the park welcoming while fostering community engagement (source). Programs are designed not only to encourage recreation but also environmental stewardship among participants.

For those interested in local flora and fauna during springtime visits, Pease Park Conservancy has compiled guides highlighting common plants and animals found within the park.

The organization encourages those who benefit from Pease Park’s offerings—whether through relaxation or social connection—to consider supporting ongoing work through donations.

Additional information about upcoming events can be found on the Conservancy’s website or its social media channels.
