Writers’ League of Texas (WLT) hosts Third Thursday each month, featuring discussions on topics of interest to writers and readers. These events bring together distinguished panelists for conversations moderated by a WLT staff member.

The organization has facilitated numerous connections, forming many writing groups and partnerships through its events and programs. This September, the focus will be on building a writing community. Panelists include Cloud Delfina Cardona, Grant Faulkner, and Annar Veröld—each of whom has built a writing network from the ground up. They will discuss their experiences in starting these networks, maintaining momentum, and the outcomes achieved.

The conversation will be moderated by WLT Program Director Sarah Renee Beach.

Cloud Delfina Cardona is an artist and writer from San Antonio, TX. She is the author of “What Remains” (Host Publications, 2020) and the forthcoming poetry collection “the past is a jean jacket,” winner of the Hub City BIPOC Poetry Series. Cardona co-founded Infrarrealista Review, a literary nonprofit that publishes Texan voices. Her editorial work has been recognized by Remezcla, Vice, and the San Antonio Current.

Grant Faulkner is the co-founder of 100 Word Story and co-host of the Write-minded podcast. He recently published “The Art of Brevity: Crafting the Very Short Story.” His stories have appeared in various literary magazines including Tin House and The Southwest Review.

Annar Veröld is a Honduran-American writer and executive director of Host Publications. She co-founded I Scream Social, a feminist reading series, and co-hosts The Host Dispatch podcast.

By purchasing books from BookPeople, supporters not only aid a local business but also encourage publishers to continue sending authors to this independent bookstore.

Thank you for supporting WLT and your local independent bookstore!
