On May 22, NXP Semiconductors celebrated the opening of their new Smart Home Innovation Lab at NXP’s Oak Hill Campus in Austin. The lab is the first of its kind in Austin and is described as a “new kind” of innovation lab, focused on fostering partner collaboration.

This next-generation innovation lab represents a significant expansion of NXP’s long-term R&D presence in Austin. In addition to state-of-the-art engineering resources, it features interactive furnished smart home spaces that allow engineers to test infrastructure solutions from the lab in an active home environment.

As a global hub for smart home innovation, the lab will provide an education and collaboration space for NXP engineers, customers, corporate partners, university partners, students, and educators to better understand complex issues related to future homes.
